Acts of Kindness: How to Spread Positivity in Our Lives

Well hello, everybody!

My apologies for not posting for several years. This blog began as a scrapbook for Q, and I regret having wasted time. When COVID first started, I had a two-year-old and worked from home. Enough said there. I also started a new position at work and became extremely busy. Second, there was so much going on politically, with talk of a possible war and EMPs, that I didn’t know what to write. I generally try to write with a positive outlook, but I could not think of anything, so I just didn’t. Looking back, that was not the best decision. Third, there was an abundance of media coverage regarding children’s videos and images online and how they could be manipulated, which made me extremely apprehensive. I’m praying for the best, but those warnings are still out there.

So, to catch you up, Q is now eight years old and a typical boy. He enjoys playing outside and absolutely loves deconstructing items to create whatever his adolescent mind imagines. He loves spending time on his tablet or any electronic gadget, watches YouTube more than he should, and transforms into a different child when in front of the camera. Q is an excellent reader, but prefers when I read to him. He is adamant that when he is old enough, he will drive D’s old pickup truck and intends to start improving it right now. He was playing with an old pedal car as I was cleaning out our basement recently. The next thing I knew, he had taken out his rock tumbler kit, removed the tumbler, and mounted the car tire on the mechanism that rolls the rocks. He later notified D that it needed a replacement axle. Lol

He sometimes finds it difficult to understand that the world does not revolve around him as with a lot of children. My goal is to highlight acts of kindness and create videos to share here. In prior years, we painted and placed kindness rocks with the help of my precious niece. Over the holidays, we distributed $5 coffee cards to retail employees, and other gift cards to anyone needing a helping hand. We donated surplus Color Street nails with “You are loved” stickers to a women’s shelter, along with various cuddly stuffed animals for any children there.

There is still an abundance of bad news, despair, financial strain, and general anxieties that it is certainly time to show our optimism and love. Let us return to our human roots and help one another, rather than tearing each other down. Let us show some love by speaking a kind word, smiling at someone, opening a door for them, or doing whatever else you can think of.

If you are interested in helping us spread joy, please leave a remark(s) expressing what you’re doing or what you hope to achieve. Let us create a massive list of excellent ideas!
